As well as the man-made built environment, such as the buildings, streetscape etc, the book also includes areas of the natural environment such as the Belfast Hills. Very few European cities have a better natural environment than Belfast, which sits astride the River Lagan at the head of Belfast Lough and is protected by hills on the east and west.
